Clunking noise from the front when braking?

My 68 beetle has discs on the front and has started to make a clunking sound when the brakes are applied.Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Mine is doing the same thing with aftermarket disc brakes. I'm hoping its nothing serious. either way i guess we should take it apart and check it out. let me know how you make out.
