Options for dropping front end

So I want to drop the front end on my '74 STD 2" or so. I know the basic options are 1) dropped spindles 2) beam with adjusters 3) sand bags in trunk.
I'd also like to go with disc brakes on the front at the same time, but I can't afford to let the front wheels move outward any at all, if anything I'd like to move them in an inch or so on either side. So that means either 1) I have to find a set of dropped spindles/disk brakes that are no wider than stock spindles/drums. 2) Use dropped spindles/discs with a narrowed beam. 3) Find disk brakes that aren't any wider than stock drums and use them with an adjustable beam. OR 4) Get a narrowed beam with adjusters.

Now I know MOST dropped spindles and disk brakes DO push the wheels outward, are there anybodies that don't? Cause I'd really like to use dropped spindles, I've been told adjustable beams can give a harsh ride.

I also don't know poop about narrowed beams. Who does them? How much or little can you narrow the beam? Is like 2" a reasonable number? Do they do them with adjusters?
What do they cost? Anybody sell a "spindle to spindle" drop in setup? What, if any, mods do I have to do to the car to use a narrowed beam?

There are forged and welded spindles, I believe the welded ones push out about 1/2". I've seen spindle to spindle setups but then you have to go out and buy the rotors, calipers and everything else. Here's what my 74 STD looks with AVIS adjusters and single caster shims. It's lowered 3" and i can still fit 195/60-15 on 5.5x15 wheels. It handles as good as stock.

Also it's a stock width beam and i have Ghia discs on front.

here is something to ponder over.....SoCal imports is selling a disk brake kit that utilizes the stock spindles and does not widen the track.that along with avis adjusters in the beam will give you what you need ....the brake kit is $500 though it can be seen in HotVWs totally tech special issue ..I've been thinking myself...
