....An engine case that's been painted should be avoided.
Heat transfer is very important for any air-cooled engine. Applying paint is like putting on a blanket.

Just wanted to share this info.......

I am just going to put the crap I got into a new case and get some head work done and go ahead and finish the interior like caroet, seat covers,dash......well the whole damn interior Image

i cant eve read his add in the latest Hot VW's. its the only page in the hole mag thats blury. lol. Mabe the publisher has a grudge agenst him:-)

or mabe its just my copy

Painted can be a very bad thing. Insulating the heat INSIDE the case. One exception, black paint.. It absorbs heat, and gives off heat much quicker than any other color. Now, Im not quite sure if the effect of black would hinder, or help the cooling effect of the motor. But I will say this. The heatsink on my CPU processor was silver, I painted it black, and the CPU temp dropped 10 degrees at full load. (i.e. playing games) I would just avoid any other color but black.
