I have an opportunity to buy a 1975 beetle EFI setup (complete). Any idea what this is worth, and can these components be used with something like the Wolf or SDS controllers? As far as I can tell these are the components that Miller recommends for up to 100 hp so I assume the flow is addequate for this kind of a motor. I want to install it in a type 181 for low end torque. At the moment, it is a 1600 but I am considering 1776 or 1915. Thanks in advance for any ideas or thoughts.

I think the only component from that system that Gary Miller uses is the throttle body. All the other parts are from CIS equipped cars.

I have similar ideas. I got a complete system as a swap meet for $80. I've tested the injectors & some of the sensors, but have not had any time more to mess with it. I hope to get a stock system working, learn a lot, then progress to a modern unit.

I went out and looked at the FI stuff and picked up the box full for $20. Not sure I will ever use it but all I am missing is the fuel pump and I would kick myself later if I ever found I wanted the FI stuff. I was suprised how much smaller the stock manifold is compared to the aluminum casting from 71 to 74. And I wonder how my garage fills up...

I don't remember where, but only weeks ago I read about a guy that just installed SDS on his Ljet late model Beetle.

I personally wouldn't install a stock L-jet system on a VW. They tend to be problamatic. I is on out dated FI system. It may have been great in its day but with the options out there today I would not run it. If you want affordabilty go with a 1776 with dual kadron. If you want more than that as you mentiond go with a 1915 with dual 40mm webers. If you are stuck on FI you are If you have good mechanical knowledge an a grasp on FI CB performance make kit that will work on a stock 1600 to as big as your pocket book allows. CB's systems is not the best out there BUT unless you have a VERY good working knowledge of FI and it electrical componets don't attemp them.

If we never try how will we ever learn?
