Hey cool. I would run a fan guard and get that exhaust up out the way though.

In conditions where necessary (like next week at the dunes) I can unbolt the muffler and just have four pipes. you can't beat the sound of it either way. As far as fan guards go; haven't found one suitable, and don't wanna spend the time to fab one (too busy tinkering with the go fast stuff). I just have a hands away rule and no little kiddies around.

Europe in a buggy in the summer... very nice.
The motor is a 914 2.0L w/ 2.0 heads, dual valve springs, 050, 'modified' bursch exhaust, weber 40's (getting CB update soon), webcam 163, 8.0:1 CR.
It's a blast, but It has been raining here in CA for the last month
I usually stay on the windy back roads here in the wine country. Mid-January I caught up to a boxter on one, but he didn't want to play. Should've stopped to talk, but when he pulled to the side, I dropped a gear and passed him at 90+. This summer I have a highway 1 cruise planned (cambria to carmel) with a few watercooled buddies. That will be nice. Good luck finishing your predator. Post a pic, I'd like to see the differences.
