Is anyone interested in a one piece front assembly for their 181? It would hinge foreward from the front tube bumper and include radiused and widened fenders.
How about a kit to remove the rear apron behind the engine to facilitate engine removal and installation?
Item #3 is a chopped Carson top with a Targa option available in choice of colors.
Item#4 four wheel bolt on disc brake kit in wide five pattern with choice of raised or lowered spindles.
I`m preparing my Christmas wish list. Anyone care to add to it? Just keep it clean

Hi Glenn! Welcome to STF 181 Forum. Good to see you here. Speaking of chop tops why do`nt you post a photo of your 181 for us(show your Thing thread or give us a link to your samba photos)? Perhaps even give us some background in the intro thread. Thanks for hanging out. Bob Ingman

Bob, I like your one piece frontend idea. that would be awesome to take some weight off the front as the Thing is so much heavier than a bug. It would be cool to have something bolt on like the Bajas do. I would like a lift off maybe even an updated design like the prerunner trucks. That would be on my christmas list. I would like some decently designed windows that don't sqeak, rattle, leak, fade, or rip, or let in the cold. Did you ever start your aluminum curtains you were going to try?

LB Good to see you back over here. The window project is waiting on a Makita Sawzall to show up under the Christmas tree.
We do need that front end though. The bug and Ghia have one why not us? good luck. Bob Ingman

Hi Bob, is there a 1 piece frontend for the type181?

I would like to build a drag version for another project, and frontend would be perfect.

Sawzall is one of the greatest tools there is. Whether its metal, wood or plastic, if its pissing you off, you saw it off. My favorite tool. Have not had too much time Thing stuff. Changing jobs, college finals, Christmas, other cars. Once everything settles the new income will be nice for the old Thing. Definately post when you get going on your project though.

Bob, when you get a chance to take a good look at them could you describe them to me? Your idea sounded so good and I was looking forward to trying something similar my self. I'm sure this Thing is going to be pretty sweet. SOme aluminum interior parts would go nice in an offroad Thing.
