Centerline Rim clearance
I am about to buy a set of 15x10 Centerline 5x130 rims I have 84' 944 Porsche disc and arms. Will these rims fit on my 73 Thing. thye were on a 914 race wiht a 911 rear prior to now. I think if thye would fit a 914/911rrear thye should fit on my thing. Comments appreciated. K-mann

With the suspension set up properly your fender will stay off the tire tops. I say shoot first and ask questions later. Get em on there and figure out how to keep them there. Good luck. Bob Ingman

Kubelmann, In my humble opinion it is the height not the width that will cause problems on the rear of a Thing. My tires are beyond the fenders in rear. There has never been a rub. NEVER even close. Not if they are out by one inch or six inches its the same. BUT too tall a tire is trouble. Try to keep your tire in the 30" range and width is not a problemo. Good luck Bob Ingman

I did some tire height research today and found out that a 305/50/15 will stand only 27.5" A 305/60/15 will go 29.5" Now I am on the prowl for tire models. Any advise is appreciated. I under stand how to calculate the math I just need to look at rubber. Will do some heavy internet look and see in the next few. I have heard the same as Bob stated above to keep the height below 30" At the same time have alway found bigger ratio height number kill more trails off the beaten path. K-mann
