Well after importing a set of front arms and spindles amd finally getting around to fitting them I got the shock of my life to find out that the Ball joint disc brakes don't fit on ...
Almost all out ball joint beetles comes with disc brake front ends.

So what are you guys running on the front of your things ??

Brad ,here the beetles both super and standard did not come with disc brakes. The guys here tend to use Karmann Ghia,Porsche 924/944 or aftermarket products. Good luck. Bob Ingman

ahhhh ok then... Oh well I fixed it now and made em disk brake compliant. I ended up welding a calliper braket onto the rear of the stub assembly and used a ball joint beetle rotar an two pin calliper from a 72 super bug. It seems to have worked fine. I preheated it all before welding and had no advers effects on anything that I can tell. Thanks fort the feedback though. I still can't bveleive I didn't notice before I went to bolt on the callipers.

Brad congratulations you have operated in the true spirit of off-road VW. The pretty boys buy the kits(from Taiwan) and the men get down and dirty. Good luck. Bob Ingman

Thats teh thing about living down here we don't have all these kits availible to us. We either buy them from the USA of make something up. A few of teh local guys are starting to catch up with kits and the likes but because of the mrket size ( ie very small ) most of theme still work on the one off idea and custom make them all the suit the application when it arrises.

Thats how it used to be here. If you look at the roots of Hot Rodding or Stock Car Racing you`ll see a whole lot of creative improvising and very few KITS!Same goes for Off-Roading and Street Racing! Guys with the know how and ability do`nt settle for a kit or quick fix approach. Good luck and thanks for sharing with us. Bob Ingman
