Angle mounts beside rear seat?
What are the inverted "V" angle mounts on each side of my rear seat back on my 73 Thing?

They support the rifle holders. Even when most people think they are only found on military vehicles (M63) they were also installed on civilian cars when ordered for hunting.

I mean the rifle holders that were supplied only when ordered. The base for this holders were installed on every 1973-74 Thing. Not every Safari had the bases installed; most 1971s and 1980s did not have them.
My 1980 didn't have the triangular bases in the back, but it came with the "hunters" rifle holders on the floor pan between the inside of the side panels and the front seats.

Y'all are all wrong. These were put there so that during KubelFest 2003 we could mount "responsible beverage" holders so as whilst we ascend Pikes Peak no spilling will occur. You say rifle, RoMTOC sayz Brewski. lol K-mann
