dual batteries
Quick question.... for quality of sound and accesories, I had a customer tell me to use the wet/dry battery system, so I would not draw so much power from my main battery. The problem is the generator..... would this still work or would I have to change to an alternator

You didn't mention how big your sound system was, but I would bet that if they are talking about a dual battery setup, that you are pulling more than a stock generator can support. It sounds like its time for an alternator and a new DieHard battery...
BTW: The generator will put more noise into your system than will an alternator.
Why don't you ask on the Sound Forum on the menu above here, they are the pros?

Perhaps they were taking about an Ultima type battery. I installed one a couple of years ago. They have hugh cranking capacity so a radio and amp might not disturb it. The plus side of an Ultima type battery is no more acid leaks! This and an alternator would be the ultimate system for any application.
quote:
Originally posted by amostcat:

Just get a super 75 amp alternator from Kimco . Swap out the stand and bolt it in. You`ll have plenty of power. Good luck. Bob Ingman

I not sure but imagine that an alternator would be better for amp output at most RPS's.
quote:
Originally posted by Jeff Lee:
