kadrons on 2.0L

Post by pestgefter »

I have a 2.0L and have had the kadrons running on the engine. The jet size needs to be increased. Jet drill size or new jets? What will allow me to use these inpexpensive, simple carbs on my 2.0l typeIV baja bug. Greatly appreciate any info.

They are about 4 steps better than a webber progressive. If you are going to run Kadrons why not drill till you find what you need then buy the correct jets.

kadrons on 2.0L

Gee,
Last year I had an Australian VW expert (in his own eyes) tell me how I should put Kadrons on the $4000 stock 2L bus engine he would build me and replace my stock FI.He said I would get 35mpg in my bus.
He also extolled the virtues of reground camshafts and badmouthed virtually every other person in the VW field.
Kadrons MUST be great.Ha Ha

According to the Bergs, carbs will run anything. Take the time to experiment with your jetting and you will be surprised. The only downside I have seen to Kadrons is that the throttle shafts wear and cause the carbs to run erratically.

They aren't all that bad, Jake. My sixteen year old has some on a nice 1776. They're his 'learner' carbs, and that car scoots. Once tuned they seem to stay in sync pretty well, in spite of that linkage. Older son graduated to Webers.

Anyway, if you're pulling and tossing Kadrons then you can throw a few over this way. I'll find a good use for them.
