Thanks PaPaG for the info. I'll look around Laredo before going up to SATX.

Chris181:
I am not thinking of any swaps, I just lurk.
A lot of people are happy with the Subbie 4
Some even doing 1.9 TDI (maybe) the Subie SVX 3.3 ltr might be worth the effort. I have even checked into the Otenger(sp) 6 cyl engines, that are still being made in germany.
The wasser in my syncro is still going strong.
Now if I could get one of those Audi V6 TDI's they have in Europe, I might be doing one then

Just popping in from they Type 4rum - I have a 1966 912 in need of a new engine, and a Type V is becoming a possibility.
Just a quick post, and apologies for being pedantic (it's in my nature
) but VW South Africa fit the Audi 5-cylinder engine in their Kombis (Vanagons), in 2.3, 2.5 and 2.6 flavours. I toyed with the idea of one in my 912, but I guess it would be too tall. And it goes against the air-cooled grain ...!
Cheers
James
