type V is the Caravelle (Vanagon) watercooled flat four, right?
if so, i'll keep you posted as i'm building up a turbo one for my beetle now.
Steve C is running a turbo one in his beetle too, and has done so for some time.
I'm interested in this thread also as some indication of what to expect.
Mine is going to use a 2.1L crank and KS pistons, HPC coated, with stock rods and new stretch bolts. fingers crossed it holds together

A friend of mine dynoed 454 Hp at 1,4 bar boost, on the "first generation" of his 2,5L wasser.
now his been testing/racing at 2 bar+ boost and it holds up good.
Still on the stock 76,4 crank!
Street driven!

100 HP is a blast..

Hey Marco
What did you end up doing with your noisy lifters? The last time I remember you mentioning it on the Type4um you had hydro lifters and they were clattering like crazy.
What did you do to fix it?

Re: Horsepower
Marco,
your car looks amazing. Could you share more details on the car and motor. Was there any clearancing of the car required to fit the wasserboxer? I've heard you need to do some cutting to fit the 2.1L's thermostat in a beetle. Looks very clean, are you running efi, or? Where have you mounted the radiators/cooling apparatus? Any close up pictures of the engine?
Thanks!
p.s. if you want to throw a webpage together I'd be more than happy to host it.
