Pushrod tubes

Post by Steve C »

Hi

I have a leaky pushrod tube and I dont want to pull the motor out just yet. In the past when this happened I have fitted the spring loaded ones, the ones I have used where not good quaility, very thin wall and leaked slightly. I was wondering if anyone knew of an alternative? I have been trying to get hold of some of the old style anodised ones that were used in type 1s and fit and adaptor on the end for the larger WBX seal but they dont seem to be around anymore.

Any ideas?

I know Bus Depot has some for a T5, but I am not sure of the actual design.

VW actualy sell spring loaded one's for the WBX, for exatly what you need it for, but they are expensive!

Hi

Thanks, I bought a VW one today, 69 pacific pasos. Its the same as the ones that I have used before, the one I needed to replace was a spring loaded one. A warning to anyone rebuilding one of these motors, replace the pushrod tubes.
