water temp light
i have a 1984 vanagon gl westfalia wolfsburg edition with a 1.9l wbx. it runs good but when i start it the water temp warning light flashes and the guage shoots the needle to the highest temp. if i wait about 5 minutes it'll go back down and the light will turn off but i am wondering if this is a problem. and info would be a great help. thanks

Sounds like a electrical grounding issue to me on the gauge itself.
Any electrical guage goes bananas when not getting a good ground.
