I think it would be really helpful if there was a forum with an online manual (maybe even an online version of Muir's book if that is allowed or someone else with permission), math formulas, guides, instructions, problems with solutions, or any pertinent information that would help everyone and especially rookies (me too). If there was such a forum, people might check here first and read through the posts for an answer for their problems and for information. If this forum doesn't solve their answer, than they could ask in the other forums. By reading this forum, not only will they be more knowledgeable, they'll also ask smarter questions and by stating that they eliminated such and such as listed in the "read only" forum, it'll make it easier for the other users to post a reply. Also, this forum could be a source for knowledge for the inexperienced and experienced through articles, publications, etc...
I see some people get a little mad that some people don't use the search function, and by having a forum that's only to be read, not replied to, it might stop some of the unnecessary topics. This forum might even narrow the guess work with the search returns since the topics in this "read only" forum should be organized. There could be a suggestion button like the reply button but the suggestion won't be posted without the moderator's consent - moderator(s) would have to review the material - that way there wouldn't be unnecessary or unrelated information. Suggestions could be tips, cautions, extra info, and so forth.
Some sample topics could be: How to do a tune-up, How to adjust your carbs, Formulas, Definitions, History, Race results, Events, How to install a carpet kit, Models ---I> Sub-forum: Detail changes on bugs, Tech-Articles ---I> Sub-forum: Pistons.
