I hope it's OK to start a new thread. That other one has gotten so full. If not just delete it Mr. Moderator & I'll place it on the back page of the other thread.

Thanks for this new thread dear friend and severe weather survivor. BtW I loved you consider the company comment in reference to a non responsive Thingster audience. I am building my 73 Thing for offroad and am building a 1915 from a AS-41 case. I am searching for original stock german 74 Thing engine tin. I have already bought a shroud that is not even a dog house and am discouraged in my search for the parts I seek. Any help or encouragement is appreciated. K-mann

BtW I miss Vince already.. The replacement sold to me is an early model tin for $35 plus shipping and so the story goes.. K-mann

Scott, I`m not sure that we are still using forum moderators since the new system went in to effect. Prior to that myself and Kubelmann were the 181 acting moderators. Good luck. Bob Ingman

Engine Tin

Post by Capn Skully »

I have some tin from a 1972 Super that looks identical to the 1974 Tin on my Thing. The 1973 Tin is different, with no air holes for the heater boxes that don't exsist.

Did that make any sense? :o

Kubelman: I think you got a 1500 cc fan part for the pre 74 Safari.
