Sent my heads off to Headflow masters to be big valve...........my question is, with the stock fuel injection on my 1.7L engine, which Webcam have you had success with?
The case from the motor turned out to be perfect, and all else is well, but want to get as much out of this motor as possible in the 1.7L configuration.........

The last one I used was the #73. It works well. It has a little bit more lift and slightly more duration than stock. The timing is nearly identical to the timing from the early fuel injection cam...which is not as good as the late timing cam...but adequate. The extra lift and duration makes up for that. I am going to be testing a couple more soon, andwill be looking at modified injection timing to be able to use them. Web cams also last corectly. Built very well...much better than stock. There are a couple more cams they have that have timing that can be used without problem, on the FI. They are listed for fuel injection as well. Their timing is slightly different, but will result in only small variances at idle. The problem to watch out for if you are using the stock domed pistons is to not go with a cam that has too much more lift than stock. It mayresult in having to spacer the cylinders for piston dome clearance. That would negate the best feature of the 1.7....the better compression and the combustion chamber being shaped to work with the domes. Stick with the #73 for now. 42 intakes and no larger than 38 exhaust. 42x37 with some port work (unshrouding the plug backside and the intake valves) DO NOT TOUCH that DIMPLE AREA...that needs to be there! Go with about 8.5:1 compression. No less than the stock 8.2:1 compression ratio. Ray
