turbo from 85 subaru gl10

I have the opportunity to pick up a 1985 Subaru GL10 1.8L turbo (free , I just have to take the whole car ). Does anyone know what kind of turbo comes on this car, and would it work on a 1776-2017?

Hey there,

I'm guessing the turbo on that subaru would be a IHI RHB5. It would probably be good for a 1776, but for anything bigger maybe you should look for a bigger turbo.

I'm going to use an IHI RHB5 off a Mazda GTX on my 1600 turbo (got it already) They are physically pretty small with quite good performance.

Thanks for the reply, I took a look at the car today and after a few searches, you're right it is an RHB5. I was planning on building a 2L, but I may have to see what this does on my 1776 first.

I've got one and yes, it's stupid mean on the streets. Only 1,254 were imported to the US. Mine has a "few" mods, around 290 HP now, AWD and very very light. Kills most anything in short races.
