What all do i need to do to remove the body? just pull out the screw and away it comes, or are there wires and other stuff.......i have been hearing different stories and such....please help me

You pretty much have it. You have the body bolts on each side of the car below the pans. There are a couple of larger rear mounts(shock tower area) and two larger mounts in front connecting body to beam(center). Disconnect steering at coupler.
It is common that the body bolts be stripped(rusted) , in that case use a grinder to remove their heads
No need to worry about wiring. The loom will come off with the body .Just have to remove its cover on the pan.
Strip the body of hood/winshield,doors, top, gas tank etc to reduce weight. A Thing body is considerably heavier than that of a bug so it all helps. Its a good four man lift off. Can be done with less if needed but you`ll wish there were more when you do it like that.
Keep us posted as you go. Kind of make a STF diary of it if you will and we`ll all become more familiar with the steps involved. Good luck. Bob Ingman
