appropriate oil pressures?

Post by chris and heidi »

Hello!
i have just completed the rebuild on my 99% stock "78" type 4, 2.0L, bus motor, and is in said bus.if you have the time, a few questions
answered will be appreciated greatly by me.
1) what oil pressures are acceptable and @ what
rpm & temps should i see these?
2) should i be concerened about the pressure at
idle or only at the 2500 rpms?
3) when using hydrolic lifters in a 1972 "non hydrolic" case, should i close off the pressure controll valve between the cyl. #1 lifters to increase oil pressure to the lifters?
4) how do i do this after the engine is together? can i use a stronger spring/piston set up in this area? should i use an appropiate sized copper tube instead of the spring to make no relief possible?(like the hydro case)
thanks,
chris
