pan stamp

Post by mstatedog »

Looking in the latest Hot VWs magazine, there is an add by socalautoparts, in the back. They offer vw thing (or ghia) pan halves for $119.95 each. I need two, so $240 (box and shipping not included). The Thing Shop offers a pair of pan halves for $425 (and free shipping). I haven't called socal but suspect the gauge of the metal is thinner and the stamping is probably for the ghia? Does anyone have experience with the cheaper pans? The last time I ordered a cheap body panel (a bug rear apron)....it was made in brazil and nothing matched up......I wound up going to a junkyard and getting one that would.

mstatedog do a little research here on past threads. This topic has been discussed at length. Good luck. Bob Ingman

Go to www.thingsunlimited.com . The pans there are for the THING and are 350 including shipping. I have no idea what the thinkness is though.
