Only have two gears, fast and faster!
This buggy is set up for 300 feet.
Gears are 10.6 first and 7.3 second. It is maxed out on rpm at 300'. You don't use the clutch to shift. It has a dog ringed 2 speed in it. Just pull the shift lever and it goes from low to high. Pretty good hit.
If it were a 4 speed, I'd try it.
Thanks

Never had a wheelie problem. It is long enough to counteract that problem.
It has hooked up well enough to take all the slack out of the front suspension, and with a spool, makes it a sometimes fun ride. Did that one time at a track with a lot of teeth, veered left from the left lane, 'bout smacked the guardrail. When it got enough traction on the front to steer, naturally it went right and about ran over the finish line sensors. Never lifted. Went a 3.91 on that pass. Don't run it as much as I used to. Not enough time and sand dragging is kinda dying out around here.

Gary,
Spool whats that,I figured I could just get out some old nasty stick rod and weld all the spiders together and then I could give you a guarantee....that it will break....
Hey didn't you get the jigs and stuff to do tranny's or do you still have someone doing them.I'm thinking of ripping into some of my sedan trannys and give one of those a shot.

Used to have all the jigs and tools to do T-2's. Got tired of people wanting to make the proverbial silk purse out of junk. Sold it all to some guys in Shelbyville who are into buggies and have all the machine shop stuff to work on them. Having them do my work now.
I do still have the stuff to put the mid engine shift linkage back on the sand dragger. A buddy did some calculating and with the HP and weight of the buggy, it should go into the nines in the 1/4. Just not with me in it.
