VW's aircooled mini SUV. Great for riding in the country, or cruising the beach.

if you dont care about coming through the bumper and are happy enough to go beneth it would a regular bug header fit on a thing and hang below the bumper without many problems?

I've seen Things with Beetle headers and mufflers on them.

You'll lose a lot of ground clearance compared to the stock Thing system or a header made expressly for the Thing so it's not good for off-road, but no problem on the street other than the disemboweled look of the view from the rear.

Things with bug/ghia/bus style headers/mufflers work though.
