I came across this picture of my 2.0 motor installed in a '73 beater bug I owned a few years back. It was my daily driver for a couple of years. I really enjoyed pissing off other people because it was much quicker than most would think. I have since sold the car, but I kept the motor and installed it in my '74 ghia convertible. My friend Jody and I followed Joe Cali's conversion manual and converted this motor to upright. It ran great then, and is still running great now. It was a lot of work, but I have enjoyed the fruits of my labor. The best part is that it looks so much like a dual-carbed type 1 motor that the novice enthuiast does not know it is a type 4! Come see it in Seviereville! I'll be with Aircooledbreeze nursing a Fosters! BTW, this is my first attempt at uploading a file. If it doesn't work, I welcome any additional instructions for you experienced forum users.
Don't laugh when you notice there is a trailer hitch on this car. It was used on many occasions to tow a utility trailer loaded with several type 4 motors I scored from the Bug Barn in Joppa, AL.
