Sorry...got too carried away with language. Actually, the audi strut cartridges have a shorter cartridge and a shorter rod length when extended.

In order for the rod length to reach the right place, the strut body or tube...will have to be lengthened at the top, where the cap screws on. It allows the cartridge to sit up higher so the end of the rod reaches the previous height of the original strut rod.

Since the catridge is shorter....there will be a gap between the bottom of the audi strut cartridge...and the bottm of the inside of the strut tube. You will need a spacer of a piece of pipe inside...to make sure all is steady.

Now...to lower a vehicle like this....you could simply leave the top of the tube alone....and move the bottom bowl...as you call it..downward...whatever amount you want to lower up to 2". I have been neglecting to get drawings of this out onto the web. I will see what I can do in th next two weeks. Ray

 ...... ..... Very nice. I have only one question. Are they calibrated to the same stock specds that Boge, Sachs and KYB were? Or are they uprated like most other Koni products. If the yare not uprated...then ...yes they would help most people just going back to original....but what I have installed is at least 100% better thanstock...for less than Koni. But...they make damn nice equip, emt. If they are uprated...thats a steal. Ray
