I USED AN INPUT SHAFT FROM A STANDARD BUG FOR AN ALIGNMENT TOOL. SPLINES MATCHED BUT AFTER SOME STRUGGLE ENGING AND TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT MATE. IT APPEARS THAT MY BUS TRANSMISSION INPUT SHAFT HAS THE SAME SPLINE BUT IS LONGER. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?. WHERE DO I GET THE CORRECT ALIGNMENT TOOL.

I usually use either a 12mm socket...with the reduced neck....or an old transmission shaft. But then...they slide right out of a 412 box. Keasure the diameter of the transmission shaft where it slips into the pilot bearing. Then buy a piece of dowel and sand a little. You might try aircooled.net or rocky mountain motorworks. They may have the correct tool. Ray
