My new project. FI was replaced with carbs. And looks like A.C. compressor was removed. Has a funny 2 fan radiator thing in the front, guessing it was for the A.C. Some rust holes in the bottom. And spots on the body. Interior about 75% good. Sitting for 3+ years. No pressure on the brakes, but entire system was replaced before it "sat". It blew a head, was replaced. But "backyard" machanic couldn't get the duel carbs synconized. So it sat..........50000+ original miles. Payed $125 for it.

Cool car. I know where one or two of the same color are ...sitting in the junkyards. Only VW could get away with cheddar yellow...and have it look cool. Keep the original color. Since it was one of the few 411/412 colors that was not metallic....its a lot easier to paint. I think the yellow (like yours), light yellow, white, green and red were the only non-metallics. There was also silver, marathon blue (silver blue like mine), alaska blue (dark), peacock green.

Yes, the radiator up front was for AC, Its rae to find them in good shape. Also if you have the underdash unit with the evaporator....AC will be as simple as adding a compressor, a dryer, and possibly a couple of hoses. Look around in the forum for notes on suspension and brake parts. Also, hopefuly we will be getting ag roup buy together on seat covers. Ray

That is cool, esp. for $125! Same as the one my dad used to haul me to school in...'course up here in Wisconsin the thing completely rusted through.

Nice find!
