I bought a set of Yokohamas "Van Special" 6 ply light truck tires specifically made for the Bus/Vanagon (or practically marketed that way in any case)
They run up to 65 PSI, I run mine at 55...
Seemed to get a bit (2-3 MPG) better mileage vs the car tires I had on it, and the handling is like a day/night contrast... Even seems to ride better, which makes NO sense. You won't go back.
I know that probably isn't what you were looking for, but there it is anyway.
Answer to your sig: About 130 MPH (without a wing) before taking off, assuming no wind. Supers do a bit better stability wise.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

GET A TUNEUP ! At aq place where they have a chassis dyno, and knows what theyre doing. That often pays off 3- 5 mpg more, + a much better running engine.bugboy696 wrote:I was wondering how to improve the gas mileage with this engine in a vanagon???
