In Search of 411-412 Heat Exchangers
I would like to locate a set of heat exchangers for my T-4 powered Thing to eliminate the bus heater boxes I have currently. Anyone have an extra set (of matching diameter) ? Good luck. Bob Ingman

Ah..yes..the heat risers. If I had spare ones...i would make you a deal. I am working on accessing a source I have in Oklahoma city. They have literally hundereds of them. But their doors were closed months ago. All is still there...but they only will go in by appointment. Since i am 240 miles away in Dallas...it gets hard to do. Actually...I am in Dallas. The prison thing was humor...sorta. Ray

914 411/412 heat exchangers?
Hey, what are the differences with the heat exchangers? Why are they different? I thought the engine was the same basically or is it closer to the bus motor? Thank Bill

Bill the difference in the exhaust between the bus engine and 411/412 engines is that the 411s were equipped with gas heaters and did not use the heavy finned heat exchangers. They are more like J-tubes with sheet metal covers. I have a T-4 powered Thing (which also uses gas heaters) so its a good and cheap way to get T-4 J-tubes.Good luck. Bob Ingman

heat exchangers
Oh I get it I think. The bus has a different exchanger because it needs to hold the heat because it doesnt have the gas heater just air heat. So it is actually thinker then the 914/411/412? Does the bus only have those fins in side the exchanger? I thought i've seen the j tubes on ebay. Thanks for the info, Bill

Bob:
Do you just want the headers or do you want em with the sheet metal installed on em? With my latest find I posted about ive got both. My hand is much better since the accident during finding the stash. Next week I will be starting to dig things out and bring home. I still want to check out your VEEP when possible.
Thanx ahead Bugmunn!!
