Post by vwbill »

Hey Ray, Stuart from www.classicgarage.com said he has two numbers for the PerTronix Ign. 1847V,1847VC. The second one he said has the 39" cables/wires. Actually he couldnt find my dist number in the book but said if it has vac adv. those were the choices. Thx Bill

Are we speaking of a pertronix module? Not a whole distributor right? Points replacement right? This should be the same set that fits a 914 1.7 liter. 39" wires ? ? ? what the heck!? Ray

Hi Ray, thanks for the reply.
I guess I'm talking about the point replacement module kit. I was told that one of the kits has 39" wires; I guess if the coil is mounted on the body or side engine compartment? I guess my dist 022-905-205P/0231-172-019 wasnt listed in the book so They are just making a educated guess. Thx Bill

The 205P is the standard 914/411/412 for 1.7. If the coil is still mounted on the hoop attached to the cooling manifold, the short wire one should fit well. There will need to be a very slight filing of onew corner of the module bracket...and slight clearancing on the disc mount for all of this to work properly. Really simple...but let us know when you get it. Ray
