oxyboxer????

Post by dave menche »

Just wondering what is with the oxyboxer. I understand putting a water cooled vanagon motor in a car, but you need to add a radiator. How is an oxyboxer set up, Am i right to assume it is a water cooled vanagon motor, that is converted to air cooled via air cooled heads, and cylinders, and cooling fan? If so, what are the advantages over say a standard air cooled Type IV motor, as it would seem that most of the motor would be Type IV at that point, is the case or crank / cam that much better???

Sorry for what is probably a silly question, its just pretty new to me. I have a wasserboxer Vanagon (1986) and several Type I and type IV cars.

thanks dave
