Here's my friend Eric Westburg's time capsule '67 Cal-Look on Streaker wheels. The car is as it appeared in a VW mag feature article over 10 years ago.The "Red Baron" was only recently taken out of storage in Cali to be shipped home to Alabama for resurrection. 8)

4lug stock wheels

Post by chrismo »

I've got a set of 4 Lug "stock" wheels. but dont have any centercaps for them.

I havnt seen anyone else with these wheels, why are they called stock? and where can I find specs on them? Seaching "stock wheels" doesnt work :)

Thanks

You talking about these stock wheels:

I put them under stock because they were factory wheels, factory available meaning stock... Not all VWs came with these but any factory available wheels I named stock. I think they came with the Baja option package, probably with other option packages as well along with upgraded dealership options. Most likely any center caps will work with most common VW wheels. Look at Empi's catalog for a start...

I made this page as a picture gallery for photo references, not a be all end all wheel description page. Sorry if I didn't make the description easier for you to search for

Nick, the wheels in your post above came on a special edition of Beetle in the UK in 1972 only, and are known here as Marathon wheels, as all cars they were fitted to were Marathon Blue.

The centre caps are unique to these wheels, and are very hard to find! I had three caps, and never found a fourth... The caps fit a stock 4 bolt wheel too, so I don't think an Empi centre cap will fit as the diameter is bigger. They are very deep caps to clear the rear hub nut.

Hope this helps! :D
