Eberspacher clock install..help needed

Post by Vgonman »

I had to install a speedo cable, so thought I would install an old Type4 NOS eberspacher clock at same time.......on the business end of the unit, the elevtrical connections are pretty much the same, but there does not seem to be a place to attach the fuel tank vibrator..thoughts? Also what wire comes over from the heater switch to the clock to make it trigger the heater?

There should be a connector Z both at the clock and the heater switch. They have to be connected with a black wire. On the clock there is also a terminal 30, which, according to the BA4 dealer bulletin on type4.org should connect to terminal 30 of the lighting switch with a yellow wire.
See the link: http://manuals.type4.org/ba4_bulletins/1971_Oct_04
Hope this works, Jan Peter

You also need to take a look at: http://www.vintagebus.com/
Go to the trouble shooting guide for the BA4 heater, picture 025. This diagram seems to give a different connection for the terminal 30, it looks as if it goes to another terminal 30 on the clock. From there it jumps to the light switch (I guess). I am not an expert in reading these diagrams, still.
Good luck, Jan Peter
