67 Bus IRS conversion

Post by regis101 »

Greetings. Looking for help on what year bug Irs trans would have proper or near proper gearing for the bus. Engine is a 1775 with a mild cam and a single 34 PICT carb. Have been looking at the IRS kits for the splitty's. Thanks

Regis I think that both Wolfgang and the Bus boys have the IRS kit for the split window. Both advertise in HVWs. About $400 and you supply the trans. The kit will come with complete instructions as to which trans is to be used. Best of luck. Bob Ingman

Thanks for the leads. I've seen the swinaxle kits but thought if I go to that length I'd be most happy with IRS. Need to find out what year IRS trans would be best. Gearing could be changed but if there is a particular year(s) that are close to optimum,I'd lean that way.
