Heater Blower?

Post by DeathBus »

I know seems like a strange topic for JUNE, but anyway.

Is this the same motor that was put into type 4 powered Buses? Mine is COMPLETELY missing, and while I am working on the car I figured I might as well get it 100%.

EDIT:: I am refering to the blower in the Engine compartment. Not the one on the Ebarspacher.

Sort of the same

The blower is sort of the same. At least, the fan housing and motor are identical. The difference is that the 411/412 blower has three bolts that connect it to the rigid upper part of the air intake bellows.

The bus fan connects to the top of the engine compartment via a bracket.

I think you could make the heater fan from a bus fit onto your 411/412 w/o any problems . . .

I have the housing, not the fan, I wonder how easy it is to pull the fan from the housing?

I've got one of these fans that I would be willing to sell. Say $20 buck plus shipping. I took it out of my 411 when I swapped over to the L-jet injection and I couldn't but the hoses back on the fan because of the location of the L-jet air cleaner.

Or you could try your luck on e-bay.

Justin has it about right. The motor on the bus fan and the 411/412 sedan fan are the same. The housing looks slightly different, but its mostly the hanging bracket. The wagon used a slightly more compact motor and fan assembly...but I have swapped them onto the sedan housing in a pinch. Ray

If I recall...you can. You may have to swap fans on the shaft. Ray
