right firt turn of the key it just turns over wont start, second turn same etc
BUT if after the first turn you leave it for 20 seconds then try it starts.
its like i have to prime the engine before starting
am i losing fuel pressure somewhere? could it be the pump?
this is the final piece of the puzzle!
latest in the wont start saga....

It could be sveral things....but the pump is suspect. ActuaLLY, test the regulator first. Run the car while you have a gauge on it. Then turn it off. The pressure should not drop below about 18 psi after turning it off. It should stay that way at least 30 minutes. When you blip the key on start, it should pick up about 18 psi just on that quick buzz of the fuel pump.
Try this...without starting....blip the key about 4 times, then start it. It that helped, you either have low pressure...or adequate pressure with a low volume pump. Also, if the regulator leaks down quickly...check to make sure the injectors are not elaking. A slightly flooded engine can also do this. Also...very low compression can do this....or very weak ignition could cause this. Ray
