Those are NOT OEM. The origial floor mats were one piece across the front. Get a load of that crappy looking heel pad. Also, the stock floor mat has a notch that drops behind and around the floor switch under the gas pedal for the kick-down. I picked up a set of OEM VW/rubbermaind matts for front and rear in the original box a few years ago.

It looks as though these mats may fit....they have the notch at the right corner of the drivers side and passengers, where they fit around the swell of the shifter, but they are definately aftermarket. I would ask if they have a part #. Ray

Kinda funny isn't it....."they have been in storage for 15 years"....but you can have them in almost any color you want (that VW never offered) . Actually....lets be fair. I can not bad-mouth a usable set of floor mats to save your fine carpeting....for $16. Thats a great deal!

It just chaps my ass to see people obviously preying on a parts "needy" genre by using the holy grail words of......NOS  and OEM  .

Its even funnier....2- years ago....99.999995% of anyone on this planet...VW people included....didn't have a clue what a 411/412 was. Now....you get people on E-bait whose blurbs on their adds either purport them to be "knowledgable"....or that they have the piles of OEM parts and have just been trying to figure out why we havn't come to them to buy them. Some great deals out there. Heck...even with bad deals out there...its just amazing to see that there ARE type 411/412 deals out there. 2 years ago....there were no 411/412's floating around for sale. They were all still buried somewhere. Rant ended.
I leave for the ph ilippines tommorow. Don't know how quick i will be back on e-mail. Ray

I will. I have no idea what to expect. I will be living a a decent hotel...but working 12-15 hour days 6 days a week until I get things under control.
I dropped by the storage unit to put away a few things in Dallas on saturday. Rolled up the door...there was my engineless baby....waiting for me to come home and work on her :( . But.....she's out of the weather...and surrounded by boxes of parts! Talk soon! Ray

Good luck on your trip. I have the impression that the Philippines is a pretty American friendly place? :D Anyway, yeah, the quality on that heel pad looks a little questionable...

Hmmmm... I guess they are sort of a deal then. If one were getting custom carpet made to fit, I supposed some mats would be pretty easy to make. I like the sound of the mat going all the way across the front on the originals

Speaking of the Real Source catalog, I noticed on page 9 they have Seat Belt Pads made out of Cat  . Finally, a good use of a cat.

(just kidding about the cat hair seat belt pads. It's just what I thought from looking at the picure)
