Ray, you seem to have been misplaced in life by not working as a TIV engineer for VW ! Your depth of knowledge and part swapping/ fabrication info is amazing.
Did you ever create a list of your findings, swap out parts, changes you have done / etc ?
I'd gladly pay for a list of your knowledge as you are kind of an unsung hero on this forum, as well as others.
I think the TIV world could use this to keep the marque alive ..... and may spur otehrs to add info on their fabrications, etc ....
ALthough I don't own a 411/412 of my own, my cousin has a collection of about 10 of them now, some NOS rear fenders etc and is planning a rebuild in the new future ..... problem is the mechanicals once you get past the rusty bits .....
Ray, Did you ever create a list of your findings ?

If this forum gets much bigger, you could make a living by traveling from town to town and working with folks who own 411-412s. Consulting fees, trvl expenses, per diem.
Humm, thinking of my own situation though, payment would be with beer, per diem would be whatevers in the fridge, and I've got about $50 in those States quarters I was saving for my kids that I could give you for gas money.
