Oh.yeah! Most extreme challenge!....what a hoot! There has got to be some serious spinal injuries in that show....I have no idea what prizes have to be at stake for that level of "dubbed"abuse.....I love it! best form of violence since death race 2000! Ray

Here is the fricken kicker. There are no prizes. No prizes! No cash incentives! Only the fame of getting your head smashed in on "Log Drop" or "Boulder Dash".
"CONTESTANTS ARE PAINFULLY ELIMINATED BY STUNTS AND CONTESTS. MXC ORIGINALLY COMES FROM JAPANESE REALITY SERIES CALLED "TAKESHI'S CASTLE" WHERE THE WINNERS WIN NOTHING AND HAS BEEN DUBBED INTO ENGLISH WITH COMEDIC RESULTS.

The Captain Tenael (the guy in the fancy jacket) is the one who says "Les Geet-et On", usually prior to most events.

The voice-overs leave me on the floor in pain.

I had actually forgotten he said that. But it is actually taken from something else in a movie or show...from somewhere way back....70's...80's...not sure, but I used to hear it occasionally years ago. Ray

I,m glad you found the disc useful. I borrowed the origanal parts book from a friend, it took my brother three months to scan every page and put it on to disc. I found it most useful when scourcing the parts to re-build the FI system, as someone had fitted carbs before I bought the car. it now runs perfect, just got to sort out the steering wobble.

Rupert....glad you dropped into the forum! Thank you so much for the disc. Let me know how I may return the favor if you need anything. That book is a goldmine. I have been looking for that for years.
Its actually really nice to have it in my computer.
None of you guys actually think I had the part # for ball joints memorized in that other thread do you? ...Heck no! I pulled up the file with the view of the ball joints and checked the part #! Very handy.

Rupert, the exif viewer system thew me for a couple. It took a few trying to print out a few pages, to realize that its a digital camera software prgram. It appears that its so similar to most other digital camera software, that once I loaded the disc into my ow computer that had basic Pentax ACDsee software in it....that almost any digital camera software is compatable. Its not that it won't print, just that a lot of basic black and white only lazer printers can't deal with all of the data. It either refuses to print....or prints really slow, but can be printed in most full color/black and white desk top printers. Thanks again. Ray

Hi Ray
I,ve had no problem printing from the disc, just double click the on page you want to copy, then click on the print, job done. I bought a CD-writer of my own last week and made a copy of the disc, using "Nero burning room" and copied as data, took about 5 mins.
A few months ago I bought a job lot of type4 spares it was the remains of three 412s that had been stripped, After all the best bits had been sold ie engines ang gearboxes, the haul consisted of brake drums, discs, calipers, 2 steering boxes & linkages, driveshafts, CVs, heater fans & tubes, 3 dashboards (one with no cracks), bumpers, seats, variant glass and lots more but best of all was a N/O/S Eberspacher exhaust, which will be fitted after I have it resprayed this winter. I know I said earlier that my car was unrestored, well it did have a respray in 1984, but I don,t count that as retoration. The only bit of rust on the car is a little surface rust on the inner wings in the front luggage area, the whole car was Zibarted (or something simular) when new and still looks imaculate underneath. I,ll send some pics in after the respray.
Cheers Rupert

Thanks for the info! Sounds like you have a very nice car coming along. Iwould bet what you are seeing is the factory rust-proofing option I used to read about. Ray
