1974 412 Sedan, Original - 7500 Cdn
1974 412, auto, sedan fastback, like new, showroom condition, not a scratch or any signs of wear, drives like new with astonishing 40,000miles and all documented, belonged to German Diplomats wife and has original "D" on the rear decklid. Amazing....top dollar for basically a new 74 VW. Pics to follow. Gold sedan with black vinyl interior. No sunroof or A/C.
yeah, but has the guy seen it and paid for it yet ?
My cousin has been getting some of these "Internet" cars into his shop, a 356 C that was purchased, the heater channels were covered over and not heater tubes, the gas tank was actually patch welded and it was rotten as hell. Had a nice paint job though ....

Wow, 7500 who'da thunk it ?
That's why I mostly buy junk, I always know exactly what I'm getting!
I was lucky, my first type 4 a '71 411 I received in high school from my parents, metallic silver. For years I regretted that my family got rid of it and then bought my '74 412 estate wagon off of Samba last year. Paid $600 and it needed about $3.5K of work, actually after the metal work and paint job probably $5K (had the paint code for Alaska Blue metallic and got a great match!). I am in CA the car was in CO. I still can't believe I went through with it but now am so happy I did. It is a true gem and runs great, knock on wood. I continue to have some anxiety about having to hunt for hard to find parts. I remember the first part I needed was the air intake boot! That was tough to find, kept the old one, repaired as a back up. Ah well, glad this site is back up again
Yep...even the very best one I have ever seen here...with a perfect body and interior, will need a bare minimum of about $1k for the suspension...and about $2.5k for engine..and about $500 for brakes to make sure you can drive it all the time and it lasts. But...thats really not bad. Like I said, collect parts, buy the straightest car you can find...and concentrate on it. Ray
