Sweet!

I would have never thought that green would look good on these cars, but the green one up there looked good.

Gee some of those pics look familiar ..... :-)

That is a good collection of pics. I particularly like the red 2-door sedan with the 17" Porsche wheels very clean. I don't know about the chromed decklid, but it doesn't look too bad.

I was glad to see the gold one with the sprintstar wheels. I was wondering how those looked! Ray

Yeah...I saw that...and stepped on my toungue twice. I have seen numerous sunroof models in the European photos. I have never seen any on this continent. I'm sure it was a pricey option. Considering the "cheap-mindedness" of most American VW owners back in the day....ie:...its suposed to be a cheap form of transport...so I'm not willing to spend that much...attitude, I'm not surprised.
I know my 412...from the invoice...cost about $4100 US in 1973. Thats without power brakesand without sunroof or AC. In 1973, you could get a fully loaded Lincoln or Cadillac....no kidding! Add the sunroof...probably about $500...and AC...probably $300-500....add power brakes...probably about $350....and you have a very expensive car in 1973......and for a VW in a country where VW is equated to an economy car, it probbaly explains why yuou see few luxury options.
