Wiper blades

Post by 74 Thing »

Just wondering what everyone uses for their wiper blades. I first tried to use the original blades but the rubber blade deterorated quickly. I am currently using a conversion kit fron Things Unlimited which converts a bosch wiper arm and blade to the Thing wiper arm. I was wondering what you guys use.

blades from a unimog fit, they are tad too short. they are identical looking to the stock SWF ones except they are olive green. they seem to be cheaper, at least the set i have were.

I have two Things. One has a set of original Thing blade that have Thing Unlimited lifetime waranteed blades. The second Thing has wiper blade holders that hold standard rubber replacement blades. I get the inserts from flaps for less than $5 a pair. Both pairs work well. K-mann

The Original SWF blades work great! You can pick them up from your dealer....Im not kidding!
Here in Bend, Oregon (Carrera Motors) we can at least. We bought a few sets of them. I think we paid somthing like $20-25 (although my father works there) :D

Please let me know more contact info on yourself. Both of my older sons live in Bend and I have another VW pal that lives outside of town there. It is always cool to hook up with Thing nuts that live close to family and friends. Both my boys would love to see your Thing sometime. Not to mention who doesn't want a VW dealer contact for good parts deals. Thanks. K-mann

I bought a set of replaceable blade wipers from the thing shop and am quite happy with them. The quality of the part is good and only the purist know they aren't correct, and they work well.
