in the future...

Post by buggman13 »

when you buy things on the internet you ask questions, request pics, send emails... and not expect something (or assume) that the item your buying will be anything other than what it is. i sold a set of rims to a member of this board recently. My ad stated that i had a (used)set of polished convo pros. (with front rubber ) It didnt say perfect, it didnt say flawless, it didnt say anything other than what they were and how much i wanted for them. when contacted about them, i offered to send pics. the member said that he didnt need to see pics. i told him that they were not curbed and were in good condition. after waiting two weeks to get a money order, i was instructed to send them asap. after he received them he called me and told me that the rubber wasnt there. i asked a friend of mine that boxed them for me about the rubber, he removed them to get the rims to fit in the box. (i take full responsability) i offered to mail them to him at my cost. he responded that the wheels were "dirty as all f**king get out" and that i screwed him. he even had the nerve to say that they werent even polished on the insides (lol) centerline doesnt even sell convo pros polished on the inside! OK. his emails and messages were filled with foul language and insults. I feel, that all of this drama could have been avoided by simply asking questions and requesting pictures, not jumping the gun and pass the blame on to the seller. i was told that if i didnt send him the rubber by a certian date, he would bash me online. he would have received them already if it werent for his discusting messages and threats. As far as im concerned, everything that i have listed forsale here on this forum is now closed.

Sucks to hear that you had a bad experience, welcome to selling..

sucks even more that you assume that all the rest of us are just as bad as this guy. This board is full of some great people, and if you get hot and bothered by ONE guy on here and figure that the hundreds of other people here are the same, well....... See ya...

btw, next time cover your ass and send some pics with the email. box the Sh*t yourself too..

You have to spell it out for some people - I have had the same experience with folks that have that sense of entitlement, that they should get their used stuff in new condition and that you should pay them to take it. Those types are first class idiots, that just need a good screwing on stuff THEY sell, so they get the drift.

I post pictures of everything I sell, no matter how dinky, because that covers my a$$.

Your friend just cost the guy a mount and balance fee too, though, and that *is* a seller's problem. I think you owe it to the guy to at least make sure he pays no more than he should have if the tires had come with the wheels. He paid less for shipping, yes, but if he has to pay for mount and balance, the difference in cost should be on you. Price of being the seller. Ask anyone about stuff they have bought from me - it comes as I said, and there's no mystery about what they are.

Next time someone says they don't need pictures, force pictures down their throat. I can't count how many times I've rejected things based on pictures, and RARELY do I buy something sight unseen unless I know the person well enough.

Point well taken guys, sorry for the neg tones. i will sell my parts to anyone might want them. but they will get tons of info and pics. also, i agree with you about the cost of mounting the tires. even though he was nasty and uncivil, i will call a wheel shop tomorrow to get an average price for mounting two tires and compensate him accordingly.
