Sorry for my ignorance, but I have no other ACVW's at the moment to compare to.
Edit: Looks like there are some year differences also?
Front brake discs, interchangeable with any other VW's?

That would be the 311 615 107B/108B for a`72/`73 Type III; prior to that Type III used an even smaller one (311 615 107/108 plain) with the same bolt pattern as a singlepin (`Ghia) caliper.raygreenwood wrote:They used the same as type 3 until august of 1972. Then they used larger calipers and discs with better strength...
The `70-`72 914 is supposed to be the same as late III/early IV but I've never tried interchanging them.

You MUST use a metallic pad. Technically, these will be listed as semi-meatallic, but they should look quite "silver" on the surface. A god many cheap auto supply houses list only organic pads for this vehicles. DO NOT USE THEM. They will smoke these rotors in a heartbeat. VW NEVER used organic pads on any 411/412. They always used semi-metallic.
Repco metalmaster brand, Beck Arnley silver series, Mintex metal master etc. All good pads.
Just be sure not to use a full-metallic racing pad. Ray
