IRS CV joints
I've never had an IRS car, so I'm curious as to how to lubricate the CV joints...do I have to pull the axles off and grease them up or do they get fed by the tranny gear oil to some regard? I'm pretty sure the latter is not the case...but just wanted to double check. My '70 Bug was sitting for about eight years, so I'm sure the CV joints could use a little attention.

Ryan, Kevin here, there is 6 bolts holding them on. Slip them down the axle a bit or just hold them back away from the stub flange if they are in good condition, then slather some MOLLY grease in them. Put the boot back on. Torque all bolts to 25 and go.
If the boots are old ,brittle or cracking replace them.
