They are totally different. Not even anything that can be modified. The control arm bushings on the super are much larger in diameter and are far too short in length. But...the urethane versions of the earlt rabbit and gold bushingwill work just fine. The rubber one will also do, but are too soft. You will need a 3/32"shim on each end of the bushing against the mounting ears...as the rabbit bushing is right at 3/16" a little too short for the yoke that the control arm fits into. Ray
I think I misstated what I was asking...not the cylindrical bushings that go in the "eye" in the end of the control arm, but rather the flat washer-looking things that go on either side of the front suspension carrier, and cushion the junction with the diagonal arm coming off the rear of the control arm. Are those from a SB useable? Ray's said in the past that you can cut them out of screen printing squeegee stock, but I don't have a printing supply store hereabouts...
Thanks for the P/N Uber, I was looking for those, too, as Ray had pointed out.
If you guys were wondering what was up, I'd been reading old posts by Ray and others on front suspension rebuilds, and I happened to be looking at other SB parts at the same time, and wondered.

Ah. Those are called radius arm bushings. They can be cut from any flat urethane stock. Go to any rubber supply house...and ask for 3/8" thick flat sheet urethane. Get the softest you can get. It will generally be about 65-75 durometer. If they don't know the hardness...walk away. Thats the beauty of the screen printing squeegee. They have known durometers.
Yes....I bet you do have screen printingsupply houses near you. Juts got to look for them. You need to take the squeegee rubber...glue it to a block of wood to hold it down...with super glue. Get two hole saws. One slightly smaller than the ID and one about the diameter of the OD. Cut the centers out first, then the outside. Be carful. This is tough rubber. You will need 4 for each side....and a couple of thin shims.
Your next problem will be replacing the delrin grommet that goes into the "eye"..for the shaft to stick through. Thats call the centering ring. You can replicate its function...but buying some 1/16" thick delrin stock, wrapping itr around the radius arm bend and setting it with a heat gun.
Sorry this is taking so long...but since I have already made both of those parts before, I will hopefully start things up again soon. I'm still moving. Ray
Perfect. Take a look at the original bushings. Measure the length of the end of the rod, divide by two and subtract the thickness of the eye...and you should be able to but sheet thickness of actually the correct size. I only use 3/8"...cause I have it. Get the 60 duro. Thats more than enough. Ray
BTW, the nearest printing supply house is up near downtown Houston, 22 miles away (yeah, I may live in "Houston", but in reality, I don't, especially with the bad traffic on the Gulf Fwy).

Oh yeah Ray, don't sweat the centerlink, things have slowed down here on the 412, so I'm not getting as much done as I need to...bottom line, the center link's not holding things up anyway, and won't be for another week or two, minimum...heck, at the rate I'm going with prep and painting of various things, the engine work, trans, etc., it may be 3 weeks before the thing's ready to roll out of the hangar
On the bright side, work's gotten more manageable of late, that's good

Those would be either graphic solutions....or Reese supply. I know both of them well. The centerlink just needs a few things. Hope to have it in the mail in a week. Ray
