D'oh, if only this were closer...
I need a driver!
My Golf's registration expires at the end of the month and it is not going to pass inspection, and my Crown Vic.'s motor has about 1-2 more trips around town. Time to part 'em out. Whadaya wanna bet the transmission wouldn't make a 2000mi. drive?

"you should buy it! Of course I dont know if it would make it over the Rockies!"
I know, I would have to have a long chat about what has been done before I would "drive anywhere." I've had decent luck, though, buying stuff and driving it long distances. I bought my Golf in Toledo, OH for $300 two years ago. Drove it home to Detroit. Then, when I moved back to Missouri a short time later, all I did was change the oil, replace a rear wheel cylinder, and replace the rear brake shoes. I proceeded to drive it 1000 miles straight from Michigan to Missouri.
