Typical top end m m

Post by Jersey Thing »

Greetings All -

It has been awhile and i apoligize. My Girlfriend has been pushing to get a house, so needless to say the past several saturdays have been tied up with the search. The good thing (no pun intended) is we may have found a place with a 2 bay garage and a 220v power source for an air pump....ok enough about that .

My question is this...what is the typical top end speed for a 181?...mine seems to lack getty - up. I may be incorrect.

i can not wait to get back to work on my jelopy. As usual thanks again for any and all help and responses.

The 1973 Thing owner's manual states that the Thing's top and cruising speed is 68 mph. Many of us have been in excess of this speed in a stock Thing. K-mann

When I had my Thing 25+ years ago my girl friend regularly drove it in the 80 MPH range. I always complained that she was pushing it way to hard, but it never seemed to do it any real harm.
