Yep, the material looks very similar. I know where a bunch of those cars are sitting that I could get, but I'll go for a notchback if I get a T3! Oh heck, why not a fastback too!

Stick a high horse TIV in a notch and have a little 914!! I really want to do this, but alas my kids want a BEETLE!
You mean the door vinyl? Its similar, but totally different as are the seats. The rear seat of like a 69 or 70 is almost dentical in every way to teh rear seat of a type 4 though. Ray

73 VW 412 (the Nomad, dropped valve seat land now, argh!)
67 MGB (Abingdon's Finest)
76 Plymouth Duster /6 (runs like a top)
99 New Beetle 2.0 (never gives any trouble)
04 Golf TDI (45 MPG)
09 JSW (love it, love it, love it!)
The fold down wagon seat is a good deal different than the sedan seats in both if the cars. I have not looked at the 412 wagon upholstery for rear very much. I would be willing to bet that it could be very similar if not exact...to the type 3 though. Ray

Someone needs to check closely on that. The two and four door type 4 rear seats are virtually identical to the 69 fastback type 3 with folding armrest though. Ray
